Why coffee can be harmful to kids?

It is because coffee contains a chemical called caffeine. If taken in small doses, Caffeine makes us more alert and energetic. That is the reason why grownups prefer to drink it in the morning. But it kids even small quantities, if taken regularly, can make kids hyperactive. It can also make it difficult for you to concentrate and may make you fall asleep.

Too much caffeine can cause issues such as increased anxiety, increased heart rate and blood pressure, acid reflux and sleep disturbance. Too much caffeine is dangerous for kids, and in very high doses, can be toxic. Caffeine is a stimulant that increases alertness.

Did you know cold drinks contain caffeine too? But there are other things also that make cold drinks bad for us. They contain chemicals that damage the enamel of the teeth, causing them to become yellow. Cold drinks make our bones weak too. They contain extra sugar that can cause diabetes and make us obese.

What do most grownups look forward to first thing in the morning? Ask them and most will answer that they crave coffee. It is a strong, aromatic drink made from coffee beans. The coffee plant grows small, white flowers and red berries that contain the coffee beans inside! These berries are called cherries. The cherries are picked, cleaned, and roasted. Some of the beans are ground before it is sold as a coffee powder at shops. But some of the beans are sold as some people like to grind them fresh just when they want to make a cup of coffee. Most of the world’s coffee comes from Latin American countries like Brazil, Mexico and Guatemala.
